Welcome!
This site is under construction while I work towards my master’s degree.
I am an artist and marine advocate.
In the relationship between maker and material, I find a metaphor for how we might live – in felt connection with our ocean kin and the matter from which all life is created.
Layering sand, shell, seaweed and enamel on copper, I allow unexpected surfaces to emerge like new terrains from the unpredictability of the firing process.
I am building protective coatings for those who are dissolving. Mussel. Whelk. Oyster. Crab. Each layer is a way of postponing having to witness the last of them.
